Taxi is one of the fastest and convenient modes of
transportation in Guildford. A large number of people in
Guildford hire taxis for airport transfers, school run, weddings, corporate travel, etc. Although it is mainly the responsibility of taxi hire company to provide a smooth, hassle-free and pleasant travelling experience to the passengers, passengers also have to play their role to make
travelling in a taxi as smooth, hassle-free and pleasant as possible.
In this blog, we will discuss taxi etiquettes for passengers; what they should do and what they should not do while travelling in a taxi.
Dos
- When travelling in a taxi in Guildford passenger(s) should always wear a seatbelt. Not wearing a seatbelt can be unsafe for passenger (s). Therefore, it is vital for passengers to wear a seatbelt in a taxi.
- Passengers should carefully scan the taxi before leaving it to make sure that they have not left their belongings in the taxi.
- When travelling by taxi passengers must carry change with them because there are some fraudulent taxi drivers who say that they don’t have change while they have changed with them.
- Passengers should stay calm if the taxi gets stuck in traffic jam. Instead of taking out frustration on the driver, passengers should patiently wait for smooth traffic flow.
Don’ts
- Passengers should not talk too much in the taxi. Some drivers feel bothered due to too much talking to passengers. As a result, they cannot concentrate on driving car carefully.
- Before getting out of the taxi, passengers must make sure that there is no car or person behind your taxi or near the door of your taxi. Passengers who don’t do so can hit a pedestrian or get hurt by a vehicle.
- If there is a group of 6 people, then they should hire two taxis for travelling from one place to another because it is both illegal and dangerous to allow excessive passengers to sit in the taxi.
- If a passenger knows the route to his/her destination then he/she should tell the driver about it. There are some dishonest drivers who take longer routes to increase the taxi fare.
